Music is our connection to yahweh

​Shalom YAH Family,

First, let me explain how important music has been for me for as long as I remember. I grew up in a very musical Family, from church choirs (I was 4 years old leading a song written for me by the then Marvin L. Glenn (later Marvin L. Winans, also my Cousin). I still remember that song "Be Careful of the Things You Say of Me ( for I'm an Heir)". I thought I was doing something, lol! I didn't know that it would be 'prophetic' in my Spiritual journey!

​Furthermore, moving to the secular side of music was my Uncle William Weatherspoon, who was a singer, songwriter and producer at Motown Records. Let me insert here, I was the firstborn child, grandchild, great-grandchild and niece. I was an oddity at the time, lol! I was at the studio a lot bc he wanted to show me off (he never had any children, I was it!). All my Aunts and Uncles wanted to impress me with there various skills,  whether singing, acting in plays, teaching and preaching!

​I found my love for the piano 1st from my Mama, who was an aspiring Classical pianist (she took me to Operas) and then by my "Uncle Billy" who wrote the song I remember "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted", written for Jimmy Ruffin. He would play a little, then write the notes and words down, asking me how something sounded...singing "Lil Bit, my nieces to pieces Ro Ro chelle" (that's why when SEB says Sister RO chelle I giggle bc it reminds me of my Uncles and Aunts calling me that). I was sitting next to him on the piano bench while he wrote songs, being mesmerized by the tones and sounds (I was deaf in my left ear due to a severe infection in the inner ear at 5 yrs old). Uncle Billy later penned a song  "Shalom Means Peace" once we left the C.O.G.I.C organization, (who knew) I can't go a day without some kind of music playing! 

​The significance of Music IS OUR connection to Yahweh Elohim.

The approach definitions;

Music (n)- vocal, instrumental or mechanical sound having rhythm,  melody or harmony. 

Divine (adj)- 1. of, relating to, or proceeding directly from Yahweh. 2. being a Savior or Ruler.

Tool (n)- 1. something used such as an instrument in performing in an operation. 2. necessary in the practice of something. 

Foreshadowing (n)- an indication of what is to come, future.

​Music is a Divine tool for glorifying Yahweh Elohim and Yahshua Messiah, expressing profound emotions, warfare, with its roots in the Kingdom of Heaven (Angels sing day and night) and a key role in fellowship worship. It also serves as a commanded act of thanksgiving, a foreshadowing of ETERNAL WORSHIP! 

​Significance of Music;

    • Creation and Eternity: predates human creation (OPNNA) with the 'morning stars sang together at creation and continues in Heaven.

   • Commanded Praise: TRUE believers are commanded to make a joyful noise unto Yahweh Elohim! 

  • Spiritual Warfare and Healing: Music was used to bind and drive away evil spirits from the soul when David played the harp. Servant Emannu'el's 'eclectic music ' IS HIS songs to Father Yahweh as a healing and worship music for the body, mind and SOUL of Yahshua University Family and Students! 

  • Temple Worship: the "Tribe of Levi" was tasked with musical ministry, using instruments like harps, flutes, tambourine and drums  

 •  Expressing Emotions: music covers a full spectrum of  human emotions, from Joy (Exo 15:1) to deep Sorrow (Ps 137).

Finally, Music IS viewed as a 'gift' from Yahweh Elohim, designed to magnify HIS HOLY NAME rather than self (pride). We sing and praise YAH in sound, primarily directed towards Yahweh. Whether WE are sad, in a sorrow period, or happy as a Lark (how happy does a Lark get?). WE GLORIFY HIM for Love, for Salvation, for Truth and for OUR Life! We know that without HIM, WE would NOT have survived slavery and STILL EVIL treatment, even then music WAS and still IS a form of communication that came from their SOULS to Yahweh Elohim and Yahshua Messiah! Praise YAH for YOU! I Love YOU ALL  ​
